Usage Indications

Surcalce; Metabolic Regulator; This is an inorganic metabolic regulator for stabled horses on a diet consisting of grains and grass; This diet typically has an imbalance in the calcium-to-phosphorus ratio (1:4) and a magnesium deficiency. This mineral imbalance can lead to bone demineralization and an increased risk of osteoarticular injuries due to increased bone fragility. In growing foals, developmental disorders and the onset of certain diseases associated with this condition, such as osteochondrosis, may be observed. Furthermore, magnesium deficiency predisposes animals to reduced calcium absorption, thereby exacerbating this condition; Surcalce rapidly restores blood calcium and magnesium levels; In chronic cases, it is recommended to supplement this treatment with Vitamin D (Shokade); INDICATIONS FOR USE; Its use is recommended for mares in the last third of gestation, for foals and growing animals, and for all stabled horses fed a diet based on grass and grains. Its use is highly recommended for sport horses, as physical activity increases stress on the long bones and joints of the limbs; ROUTES OF ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE; For pregnant mares, one administration every 30 days is recommended during the last third of gestation and the first 2 months of lactation. Preventive use in animals in training involves administering a dose every 60 days, while animals with clinical symptoms receive treatment every 15 days. The route of administration is intravenous, and the dosage is 1 ml per 20 kg of body weight; It is recommended to administer the solution slowly (no more than 1 ml of Ca per minute) to prevent systolic cardiac arrest, which occurs when calcium levels exceed 7.0–7.5 mmol/L (28–30 mg/dL); CONTRAINDICATIONS; It has a wide safety margin and is free of undesirable side effects at the recommended doses; WARNINGS; Store the product in a clean, dry place out of the reach of children, at temperatures between 4° and 30° C; For veterinary use only; Formula and Quantities; : Calcium; Lactobionate 2.0 g; Calcium; Gluconate 25.0 g; Calcium; Acetate 3.7 g; Magnesium; Hypophosphite 8.0 g; Water for Injections q.s; To 100 ml
