Usage Indications
Mucolisin Mucolytic - Expectorant - Antitussive Ambroxol is a mucolytic, expectorant, and antitussive agent—a metabolite of bromhexine with greater potency than the latter. It works by reducing mucus viscosity through the depolymerization of sialomucins. It can be administered alone or in combination with bronchodilators and antibiotics such as penicillin, ampicillin, and gentamicin. The half-life is approximately 4 hours. INDICATIONS FOR USE It is indicated for all respiratory conditions characterized by productive cough and excessive mucus secretion, involving both the upper and lower respiratory tracts. ROUTES OF ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE It is administered intravenously at a dose of 0.3 mg/kg of body weight (6 mL per 100 kg) every 12 hours. CONTRAINDICATIONS None, as it has a wide safety margin. WARNINGS Store the product in a clean, dry place out of the reach of children, at temperatures between 4° and 30° C. For veterinary use only. PACKAGING : Vial containing 100 ml.
