LACRILON PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIES LACRILON is a NATURAL BIOPOLYMER (molecular weight 35,000–45,000 Daltons; Dynamic viscosity 20 cps) that is ultrapurified using a proprietary process, which ensures its stability (it has a shelf life of 2 years at room temperature) and, together with the proper balance of its sulfate groups, maximizes its biotherapeutic action. BIOTHERAPEUTIC PROPERTIES Sulfated glycosaminoglycans (chondroitin sulfate A and C; Keratan sulfate) are the primary extracellular components (MATRIX) of articular cartilage. Due to their high anionic charge (-) and molecular weight, they are highly hydrophilic (elasticity) and interact with cations (+) of various types (glycoproteins, enzymes, collagen, etc.), which gives them their broad biological activity.
