Usage Indications
Furedem D Injectable Diuretic Formula: Furosemide 5.0 g; Dexamethasone Sodium Phosphate 0.050 g; Excipients q.s. to 100 mL. Indications: Edema of various origins in cattle, sheep, and horses. Especially indicated for postpartum udder edema in cattle. Warning: This product is not suitable for horses intended for human consumption. Administration and Dosage: The product is administered intramuscularly or subcutaneously. The general dosage is 0.5 ml per 20 kg of body weight; The dose may be repeated after 24 hours. The duration of treatment varies depending on the clinical case, but generally, administration of 2 doses 24 hours apart is sufficient. Restrictions on use: Do not slaughter animals until 72 hours have elapsed since the last treatment. Do not use milk from treated animals for human consumption or industrial purposes until 72 hours (6 milkings) after the last treatment. Contraindications and Precautions: The nephrotoxic effect of aminoglycosides may be potentiated; Therefore, these antibiotics should not be administered concurrently with furosemide. Do not exceed the maximum treatment durations indicated. Electrolyte imbalances must be corrected before initiating furosemide therapy. If signs of an electrolyte imbalance are observed during treatment, it must be corrected with attention to the replenishment of sodium and potassium. Furosemide may lower serum calcium levels and cause tetany in predisposed animals; Therefore, it should be administered with caution in animals with a history of hypocalcemia. Treatment should be discontinued in cases of progressive kidney disease with increasing azotemia and oliguria. Do not administer to animals with severe liver disorders. Storage: between 5°C and 25°C.
