Usage Indications

Phenylbutazone-based injectable solution. A nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug with analgesic, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory effects. Indicated for acute and chronic inflammatory conditions. Arthritis, myositis, tendinitis, synovitis, hyperthermia. FORMULA: Each 100 ml contains 20 g of phenylbutazone. Excipients q.s. DOSAGE: Adults: On the first day, administer 5 to 10 ml, which is equivalent to 1 to 2 ml per 100 kg of body weight or 2.2 to 4.4 mg/kg. Foals: On the first day, administer 1 to 2 ml for a foal weighing approximately 200 kg, equivalent to 1.1–2.2 mg/kg. Starting on the second day, reduce the dose by half until treatment is complete. CONTRAINDICATIONS: Use with caution when administered concomitantly with warfarin, aminoglycosides, penicillins, sulfonamides, furosemide, barbiturates, promazine, glucocorticoids, and other NSAIDs. Do not use in pregnant or lactating mares. Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to phenylbutazone. Do not administer to horses intended for human consumption. Do not administer to patients with heart, kidney, or liver failure; Gastroduodenal ulcer syndrome (GDUS); Or to animals that are dehydrated, hypovolemic, hypotensive, or have hematological or bone marrow abnormalities. At the indicated dose and duration of treatment, side effects are unlikely to occur. In cases of hypersensitivity, gastrointestinal symptoms may occur, such as oral and gastrointestinal ulcers, diarrhea, anorexia, decreased plasma protein concentration, neutropenia with a toxic left shift, and renal effects (azotemia, renal papillary necrosis). Do not mix with other medications in the same syringe. Administer only by the indicated route. INTENDED FOR: Equines not intended for human consumption. Do not administer to pregnant or lactating mares. DURATION OF TREATMENT: The duration of treatment may be up to 7 days, adhering to the dose reduction and dosing intervals. In acute cases, it may be administered every 12 hours on the first day and then every 24 hours. In subacute or chronic cases, administer every 24 hours.
