Composition Ingredient Amount Phenylbutazone 1.00 g Lactose 0.30 g Indications Analgesic, antipyretic, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug for the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders in sport horses. Treatment of choice for acute laminitis. Arthritis, spondylitis, tendinitis, synovitis, bursitis, rheumatism. Antipyretic for viral diseases. Routes of Administration Oral Dosage Estimated for 460 kg body weight Duration of Treatment Day 1: 1 tablet every 12 hours. Days 2–5: ½ tablet every 12 hours. Day 5 and beyond: ½ tablet every 24 hours. Precautions and Contraindications Do not administer to animals allergic to the active ingredient. Do not administer concurrently with warfarin or sulfonamides. Do not use when gastrointestinal ulcers, coagulation disorders, or cardiac, renal, or hepatic dysfunction are suspected, or when thyroid function is impaired. In inflammatory conditions associated with infections, additional chemotherapy is required.
