Usage Indications
PRODUCT AVAILABLE FOR EXPORT ONLY. DIURIJECT A diuretic agent used to reduce blood volume and blood pressure. Composition: Contains: Ammonium chloride 5.4 mg/mL Action: Ammonium chloride causes transient diuresis. When administered before exercise, diuresis results in a reduction in blood volume that may help reduce exercise-induced pulmonary hemorrhage (EPH). The reduction in blood volume results in a decrease in pulmonary arterial pressure, pulmonary artery pressure, and capillary pressure. Elevated pulmonary pressures are implicated in causing exercise-induced pulmonary hemorrhage (HPIE); Therefore, reducing pulmonary pressure may help reduce the incidence of HPIE. Ammonium chloride also has systemic and urinary expectorant and acidifying properties in various species. It is metabolized in the liver to form urea and hydrochloric acid. Indications: To induce transient diuresis. Dosage and Administration: Horses: Administer 50 ml by slow intravenous injection 4–5 hours before strenuous exercise. Warnings: Withdrawal period for meat (horses): none Presentation: 50 mL sterilized glass bottle.
