Description Clenbuterol, the active ingredient in DILA-T Bronquial, is a sympathomimetic amine that acts on the beta-2 receptors of the bronchial musculature, causing bronchodilation, accelerating the expulsion of obstructive mucus, and improving pulmonary ventilation. It also acts on the myometrium of various species as an antispasmodic. Composition Component Amount Clenbuterol hydrochloride 3750 ml. Double-distilled water (q.s.) 100 ml. Indications Bronchodilator. Bronchial antispasmodic. Treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Used in combination with antibiotics in acute cases of bronchitis, bronchopneumonia, and bronchopulmonary infections. May be used intermittently as a preventive measure against allergic reactions. In the uterus, it acts as a spasmolytic, delaying labor and/or facilitating obstetric procedures. Route of Administration Slow intravenous or intramuscular injection. Dosage Unless otherwise prescribed by a veterinarian, administer 1 ml per 50 kg body weight, twice daily. For acute and subacute conditions, treatment should last 10 to 15 days; For chronic conditions, 30 days. As a tocolytic, 10 ml or as determined by the veterinarian. Precautions and Contraindications Do not use in combination with corticosteroids, unless results with clenbuterol are unsatisfactory. Discontinue treatment in pregnant animals two days before delivery due to its antispasmodic effect on the uterus. Its action is antagonistic to oxytocin and prostaglandin F2α. If it is necessary to combine its use with atropine, keep in mind that both substances increase heart rate. Restrictions on Use For use exclusively in sport horses.
