In pregnancies prior to the third trimester, glucocorticoids may induce signs of labor; Therefore, in pregnant cows, the lowest indicated doses should be administered. Glucocorticoids may temporarily decrease milk production. In cases of acute or chronic bacterial diseases, the use of glucocorticoids must be accompanied by appropriate treatment with antibiotics or chemotherapeutic agents. In acute kidney disease and in conditions where there may be involvement of the liver parenchyma, they should be administered with caution and under the supervision of a veterinarian.
